Gordon campaign: Announces as candidate for Wisconsin’s 39th Assembly District
Chris Gordon of Neshkoro, Wisconsin, a life-long resident of Wisconsin and career educator who has worked for students and families at every level from early childhood through graduate school, announced that she is formally declaring her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 39th Assembly District. Chris Gordon made this announcement at the open house and official opening of the office of the Democratic Party of Marquette County. Representative Francesca Hong from 76th Assembly District and Ben Wikler, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin were also in attendance at the event.
“The tradition of Wisconsin Forward motivates me to work on behalf of my rural Wisconsin community and as a strong advocate across all of Wisconsin for a unified effort for effective state governance,” says Chris Gordon. “It’s critical that we work together to solve problems facing Wisconsin people and Wisconsin places. Through open-minded collaboration we can develop policies and legislation investing healthy communities, healthy resources and healthy change for a revitalized progressive Wisconsin.”
Chris Gordon is recognized for being hard-working, ethical and open-minded. Through her career as a teacher and school administrator, Chris developed skills as a solution-oriented team builder able to bring diverse people with varying perspectives and beliefs together to identify their shared values and common goals.
Chris Gordon is married to Mark Johnson, the proud mother of two adult daughters and one adult son and has one granddaughter. Chris is active in her church and has a wide range of interests and hobbies. Raised the oldest of seven children, Chris owes her moral code to that modeled by her loving working-class parents.
“I have no career experience as a politician but I’m confident that my commitment to the people of Wisconsin and my skills in working with others prepare me to serve as a highly qualified Representative in the Wisconsin Assembly.”
“Though I will be representing a rural district, my candidacy is relevant to those working to drive excellence in schools across the entire state, especially in our urban centers. Our rural and urban school districts deal with common issues every day. Both must solve the problem of updating out-of-date facilities and attracting highly qualified personnel without sufficient funding to address either challenge. We have to develop new models that guarantee access to a worldclass public education to every Wisconsin student regardless of zip code.”
