RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – With the weekend fast approaching, it is time to catch you up on events happening in our greater listening area for Thursday March 13 through Sunday March 16. You can always submit YOUR community events to WRCO by clicking the following LINK.

Thursday, March 13

The Vernon County Health Department offers “Wellness Screenings” the second Thursday of the month from 7:30 to 10:30. The screening includes cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as an assessment of blood pressure and discussion of risk factors for heart disease. A $10 donation is requested, but not required. For more information visit the Vernon County website. For assistance in making an appointment contact the Vernon County Health Department by phone at 608-637-5251, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 to 4:30.

The monthly board meeting of the Family Thrift Shop will be held at the Park Street Christian Church Thursday, March 13, at 1:00 PM.

Tech Help is available the second Thursday of the month from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Lone Rock Community Library. You can get assistance with your devices or computers. Walk-ins welcome. There is no charge for this service.

University of Wisconsin – Madison, Division of Extension Women in Ag Programming will host I’m a Farmer Too. This program is geared toward women and the many hats they wear in the agricultural industry. Topics for the day center around exploring diversified revenue streams, such as agritourism and locally grown product marketing. The event will be hosted Thursday, March 20, at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point. RSVP by Thursday, March 13, by calling the Lafayette County UW Extension Office at 608-776-4820. The cost of the program is $25 and covers materials, lunch, and craft supplies. Checks can be made payable to UW-Extension. RSVP and registration fee is required a week before the program date.

Richland Junior Bowlers will host a pizza buffet Thursday, March 13, from 4:30 to 7:30 at the Phoenix Center. Proceeds will benefit the Junior Bowlers scholarship funds.

The Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board will hold its regular monthly business meeting Thursday, March 13, at 5:00 at the Riverway Board office in Muscoda. The meeting also will be broadcast via Zoom. For more information, contact Mark Cupp, Executive Director, at 608-739-3188 or 1-800-221-3792.

Friday, March 14

Ocooch Mountain Humane Society will hold its “O’Delicious” Bake sale Friday, March 14, from 9:00 until 1:30 at the Richland County Bank.

“Escanaba In Da Moonlight,” a farcical comedy written by Jeff Daniels, of “Dumb and Dumber” fame, will be held at the Richland Center City Auditorium Friday and Saturday, March 14 and 15 at 7:00 and Sunday, March 16, at 2:00. Saturday, March 15

The Weston Class of 2026 will host a Spring Arts & Craft Fair Saturday, March 15, from 8:00 to 2:00 in the Weston Elementary gym. Concessions and a bake sale will also be available.

The Little Lamb’s Closet, held at Park Street Christian Church, sponsored by the Richland County Right to Life, is open the third Saturday of the month starting at 9:30. Please use the Park Street entrance.

Free milk and cheese is available the third Saturday of each month from 9:30 until gone at Park Street Christian Church. Use the Seminary Street entrance.

The 16th Annual Avoca St. Patrick’s Day Parade will step off Saturday, March 15, at 1:00. Those wishing to participate may line up at the Village Hall.

The Republican Party of Richland County will be holding their annual Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday, March 15 at the Phoenix Center, in Richland Center, starting at 5:00. Guest Speakers will be Derrick VanOrden, US Congressman; Tony Kurtz, State Legislature and Hannah Testin, Chairperson, Wisconsin Third Congressional District. Advance tickets are available now at the RPRC Campaign Center in Richland Center, located in the old Jefferson School Building. Office Hours are Saturdays 10:00 until 2:00, Tuesdays Noon until 2:00 and Thursday Noon until 2:00. Ticket costs are Adults $40 per person and Students $25 per person. Knights of Columbus Council 3492 will be hosting bingo on Saturday, March 15th at 6:30pm at the Richland Center Community Center. The progressive blackout jackpot will be $1,985 + 50% of net sales in 53 calls or less.

Sunday, March 16

The Ithaca Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast and silent auction Sunday, March 16, from 7:00a to 12:30p at the Ithaca High School Commons. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for preschoolers. Proceeds will benefit Kreg Perkins for medical expenses. The Loganville Area Fire Department will host a pancake breakfast Sunday, March 16, from 8:00 to Noon at the Loganville Village Hall. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for preschoolers. Proceeds will go toward new equipment. There will also be a Loganville 4-H bake sale.

The Annual Clyde Chili Chicken Noodle Soup Dinner will be held Sunday, March 16, from 11:00 to 2:00. Cost of the all you can eat meal is $12 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 10, and free for children under 5. Adults $12, Children 5-10 $5, Under 5 eat free. Carry outs will also be available.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Sunday Funday Square Dance scheduled for Sunday, March 16, at the Richland Center Community Center, has been rescheduled to April 13th from 1:00 until 4:00.

The Richland Concert Association will host the UW-Whitewater Faculty Piano Trio Sunday, March 16, at 2:00 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Richland Center. Cost is $15 for adults and free for students.
