GREEN BAY, WI—(WGBW)— Getting people to the NFL Draft Stage near Lambeau Field this week will not be as simple as driving to Titletown, parking, and walking to the festivities. Roads are closed, and prime parking spots are being used for the Draft areas. So what is a person to do? Green Bay Metro Transit has the answer. Take the bus!

Green Bay Metro Transit has set up a Downtown to Titletown route that will allow you to park your vehicle in one of Green Bay’s ramps or parking lots downtown and ride in comfort to the Draft Stage.

“You can park anywhere along that route and get on. We do have some designated stops. However, our drivers are awesome. They will watch for people if it looks like they want to get on the buses,” said Patty Kiewiz, Green Bay’s Transit Director.

Busin’ to NFL Draft

The buses will run continuously in a loop between Downtown Green Bay and the area near the draft from noon to 11 pm on Thursday and Friday, and from Noon to 9 pm on Saturday.

“ Buses will just constantly keep going,” said Kiewiz. “They’re not gonna stop through that entire time.”

Even more impressive than the continually running shuttle buses to make the trip to the Draft hassle-free is the fact that riding the buses is free. Not to mention the ability to track a bus at any time to plan when and how to hop on.

“We actually have real real-time data feed right there. If you click and go onto our draft page, you will see. You can see the real-time location of these buses. So if you are downtown and you’re inside eating at Hagemeister, and you’re not sure where that bus is, you can pull that right up and see how close it is to you. So you know when to get out there,” Kiewiz said. “ If you’re at the draft and you’re wanting to know, you know, wanting to leave, not quite sure when the next bus is coming through there, you just watch that live time feed. It’s right there.”

Earlier this week, Green Bay Metro Transit unveiled its new battery electric bus, which will be one of the buses shuttling football fans from Downtown to Titletown.
