It’s a hit! The Milwaukee Brewers idea to team up with local cops is being called a ‘home run’ with kids across the state.

Police officers are handing out Brewers baseball trading cards with a cool comic book look to anyone who comes up and asks for one. They’re doing it in five communities with more to be added by next year.

Listen to the 60 second audio version of this story here:

The program is a way to use America’s pastime to help build bridges between officers and families. Green Bay, La Crosse, Madison, Kenosha, and Milwaukee police are part of the current lineup giving out the collectible card packs to baseball fans of all ages.

“We have received an overwhelmingly positive response to the baseball trading card program,” Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger says. “Police departments throughout the state are eager to bring this to their communities. And we look forward to developing a new generation of Brewers fans.”

The 2025 edition of trading cards features fan-favorite players like Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, and more. LA-based artists at Pop Fly, known for collaborations with Topps, Robin Yount, and Bob Uecker, are behind the vibrant, bold designs you’ll see on every pack.

And if you are a collector, you won’t want to miss the Sunday, July 27 game. It will be Trading Card Day at American Family Field and the first 25,000 fans through the gates will receive a Topps card pack. The Pop Fly artists will be on hand along with a dozen trading card shops from Milwaukee, Madison, Janesville, and Green Bay who will be ready to trade, sell, and share in the fun.

Tickets to all Brewers home games, including Trading Card Day, are available now on the team’s website, by calling 1-800-933-7890, or at the American Family Field Box Office.

And be sure to listen to your local Civic Media radio station for your chance to win Brewers tickets all throughout the season.
