Christy Welch runs for 88th Assembly District

GREEN BAY, WI – (WGBW) – Christy Welch is adding her name to the candidates running for the 88th Assembly District. Welch has served as Democratic Party of Brown County Chair since January 2023. Welch said in a press release that she wants to work to build a “more equitable future and open doors to opportunity and prosperity for everyone.” 

The redrawn district covers De Pere, Allouez, and Bellvue.  

Incumbent Rep. John Macco was drawn out of the district boundaries. He announced plans to retire once his term is completed in January. 

Republicans running for the 88th Assembly District are Phil Collins and Ben Franklin. Welch is the only Democrat in the race so far.
