Our local announcers who love to entertain and inform you!

Dan Markus grew up in Wisconsin listening to music and radio announcers — though he never imagined it as a career. But one visit to his college radio station at UW–Whitewater changed everything. A year later, he landed his first professional (meaning paid) job and has never looked back.
Now, more than 50 years later, Dan has earned multiple awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
With over 25 years living and working in the Green Bay radio market, Dan proudly claims he can safely navigate every roundabout the city throws at him. He and his wife Viki, live near Lambeau Field with Dutch the Dog and Drizzle the Blue Point Princess cat. He still loves that his daily commute takes him past Lambeau Field and over the Ray Nitschke Bridge — something his brother Bill (a Packers fan living in Bears country) is definitely jealous of.

Connie Fellman is an Emmy Award–winning journalist with a broadcast news career spanning decades. She joins Civic Media from the television world, having worked as an anchor, reporter, writer, and producer at three of Green Bay’s four local stations: WFRV Local 5, WLUK Fox 11, and WGBA NBC 26.
Connie is thrilled to continue her passion for local news behind the microphone at 97.9 WGBW. A proud Shawano native, she has lived all across Wisconsin and has called Green Bay home for over 30 years. She knows this community deeply and believes in the importance of covering local news in the communities we serve.
Outside the studio, Connie is an avid musician. She plays trumpet in local concerts and jazz bands, including the Allouez Village Band and the NEW Dixie Ramblers. She also volunteers to play Taps at veterans’ funerals and rocks lead guitar and vocals in the all-female band Chick Trip.
