OSHKOSH, WI – (WISS & WGBW) – Fox Valley Pro Basketball (FVPB), the owners of the Oshkosh Arena, admits to being behind in property taxes to the City of Oshkosh but denies it is unable to pay its bills.
Bayland Buildings, the company that built the arena, filed suit against Fox Valley Pro Basketball in June. It claims it is owed more than $12 million.
FVPB replied to the lawsuit through its attorneys last week. In the response, the organization admits that the last payment to Bayland was made in March 2024. However, it denies being “consistently delinquent” with payments. It simply responded “Deny” to the claim that “FVPB is insolvent or in imminent danger of insolvency.” FVPB admits to not being current with 2023 real estate tax obligations. It seeks the burden of proof from the Bayland Buildings to the claim that it owes over 12 million dollars to Bayland Buildings and has failed to make payments.
Records from the City of Oshkosh show that FVPB missed property tax payments due on Jan 31, March 31, and May 31. FVPB owes the city over 482 thousand dollars in back taxes. Another payment is due at the end of July.
The Oshkosh Arena is home to the Wisconsin Herd Basketball team which has announced several of its home dates for the upcoming season at the arena.
FVPB has listed the Oshkosh Arena for sale at LoopNet for $19 million.
