GREEN BAY, WI – (WGBW & WISS) – Voters turned out to choose nominees in primaries for several state and federal contests yesterday. One of the most hotly contested races was for the 8th Congressional District.
State Senator Andre Jacque, former state senator Roger Roth, and Trump-backed Green Bay Businessman Tony Wied faced off in TWO elections. One is for the remainder of Mike Gallagher’s current term until January. The other is for the full-term election.
Tony Wied will now face Democrat Dr. Kristin Lyerly in the November 5th general election for the 8th Congressional District.
Again, there will be two elections on the ballot for Congressional District 8 in November. One to fill the remaining months of the term vacated when Congressman Mike Gallagher resigned. The other is for the full term from January 2025 to January 2027.
