According to GBAPS, the referendum seeks funding to enhance safety and security at secondary schools. It will address deferred maintenance projects at several elementary schools. And provide more appropriate learning environments for students and staff at consolidated schools.
The deferred maintenance projects at the elementary schools include HVAC, fire alarm and electrical systems, roofs, ADA compliance issues, and more.
In a press release, the Green Bay Area Public Schools said it will have paid off a significant portion of the November 2022 Referendum. Thus allowing the district to borrow funds, while maintaining the current mill rate.
