Former President Bill Clinton visits Oshkosh voters

OSHKOSH, WI – (WGBW & WISS) – Former President Bill Clinton stopped in Oshkosh Thursday for the Harris/Walz campaign.

The Winnebago County Democratic office was packed with volunteers and supporters to hear Clinton speak.

“I’m not running for anything except my grandchildren’s future.” said the 42nd president of the United States. “I don’t want you to feel any pressure, but you might decide my grandchildren’s future.” 

Clinton said he supports Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump because her economic plan is better. Her education plan is better, and her health care plan is “light years” better than Trump’s.

However, Clinton didn’t just discuss the policies of the two parties; he also addressed the issue of the Supreme Court.

“The next president – The one reason I pray it will be Kamala Harris – The next president may have two more appointments for the Supreme Court ,” Clinton said. “Now we’ve already got the most right-wing court in 100 years. Completely ideological. But if she gets two more appointments, it could be in balance, at least. If he gets two more appointments, they’ll be the most right-wing court for 30 or 40 years, maybe longer.”

He ended his speech with a plea for Wisconsinites to go out and vote.

“Look, this is really a big deal. I want my 10-year-old granddaughter. To grow up with the rights that her mother has,” he said.

Not just focusing on the presidential race, Bill Clinton also encouraged voters to support U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin who is being challenged by bank-owner Eric Hovde.

After visiting Oshkosh, the former president traveled to Milwaukee to connect with voters there. 

On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the Appleton area, followed by a rally in Milwaukee. Former President Donald Trump will also be in Milwaukee.
