The 95th Assembly District includes parts of La Crosse and Monroe counties, including most of the City of La Crosse, in western Wisconsin.
Jimmie Kaska, Civic Media NewsWISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Democratic incumbent Jill Billings has been called the winner of the race for the 95th Assembly District in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press made the call on Wednesday.
The Democratic Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered likely Democrat with a projected margin of 11 points.
Billings, who was first elected to the Assembly in 2010, is the minority caucus co-chair and serves on five committees, councils, or task forces. She is a full-time legislator and former teacher. Billings was on the La Crosse County Board from 2004 to 2012.
Billings defeated Republican challenger Cedric Schnitzler, a former dairy farmer who currently serves as the Chair of the Monroe County Board, where he has served “on and off” for the past 30 years.
