APPLETON, WI- (WISS) – Listeners in the Fox Valley can now hear Civic Media radio station WISS from south of Oshkosh up to the borders of the Greater Green Bay Area. Civic Media has launched a simulcast of its programming from 98.3 WISS in Oshkosh to 96.5 in New Holstein.
Santa Claus made a stop at the Maino and the Mayor Show Monday morning to make the announcement:
“Dear Maino and the Mayor – Ho! Ho! Ho! While your behavior this year has left a little room for improvement, your loyal listeners have been absolutely wonderful! And because they’ve been so good, I thought they deserved a very special gift this Christmas season. My elves at the North Pole have been hard at work in their workshop and with a little magical engineering–they’ve built something extra special. A brand new radio signal to spread even more joy across Appleton and the Fox Valley. From this day forward, WISS will not have one, but two signals bringing holiday cheer and more to the Fox Valley. Your listeners can now tune in to 98.3 in Oshkosh and the shiny new 96.5 in Appleton,” Santa read from a special letter to Maino and the Mayor.
Kory Hartman, Vice President of Broadcast Operations for Civic Media said the station is licensed to New Holstein, but broadcasts from High Cliff State Park to cover all of the Appleton, Fox Cities area.
“We are excited to bring another choice for real news and great conversation to the Fox Valley and serve Appleton as a community partner,” Hartman said.
Civic Media programming can now be heard in the Fox Cities and surrounding area on 98.3 FM and 96.5 FM WISS. The signal is then picked up in Green Bay on 97.9 WGBW.
