WISCONSIN (CIVIC MEDIA) – As the much-anticipated Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture event gets underway in Oshkosh this week, Governor Tony Evers proclaims July 21 through July 27 as Aviation Week.
EAA AirVenture is the world’s largest airshow, with hundreds of thousands of people attending the event annually to see numerous aircrafts feature in airshows and perform aerobatics, pyrotechnics, and more. The event drew in a record-breaking 686,000 attendees in 2024, featuring more than 10,000 aircrafts.
According to the EAA, the show accumulated $170 million for Brown, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Outagamie, and Winnebago counties.
“After last year’s record-setting totals, we’re excited once again to participate in EAA AirVenture week,” Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Secretary Kristina Boardman said in a statement. “This annual event helps highlight WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics’ commitment to strengthening Wisconsin’s aviation network. Our airports are crucial hubs that safely connect passengers to destinations and goods to markets which support local and global economies. WisDOT is proud to welcome all attendees to EAA AirVenture week in Oshkosh as we explore the fascinating history and future of aviation.”
