DoorDash spent a whopping $2M lobbying for bill that would ban employee benefits for drivers

The billwould have more clearly defined the difference between an employee and an independent contractor, and established that drivers for app-based services like DoorDash and Uber are not employees of those companies, eligible to receive benefits like workers’ compensation insurance, minimum wage, and unemployment insurance.
