Here’s what’s happening…
We went for a long walk around town recently, talking about this great city and the unique vibe of Green Bay. We’ve been thinking a lot about how to best serve the folks who live here. As a public benefit corporation, we are required by law to provide certain services to the local communities we broadcast in. One of the pillars of this foundation is local news. We’re doing that now. But what else, we asked?
Timeless hits. Ding.
There was no radio station in Green Bay who plays iconic classic artists like Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Neil Diamond, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles. These great songs truly meet the definition of “timeless.”
Starting now, we’re bringing back that music, plus an on-air lineup of familiar voices that Green Bay listeners will immediately recognize:
- Dan Markus 6-9am
- Laura McKenna 9am-2pm
- Eric Westphal 2-6pm
- “Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba” 6-8pm
They work here, and they all live here. And they are ready to be great hosts for you.
Summarizing for you: we felt there was a real need in Green Bay and Brown County for something unique like this reimagined radio station. We hope you enjoy it.
Civic Media operates a news/talk station in the Fox Valley, very similar to the former WGBW ’s talk format. It’s WISS-AM 1100, FM 98.3 in Oshkosh, FM 96.5 in Appleton, streaming at wiss.fm and on the Civic Media app. Fans of any of those shows shows can find them there.
